Sahel Specialist Hospital

A small specialist hospital in Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria, and the third place the Starlink Cat community lit up, the first that is not a school. The staff had been running patient records, referrals and calls to other hospitals on a mobile signal that drops when it matters. One kit, handed over and mounted on 21 September.

The request

The request, filed on 13 September, said the hospital had suffered casualties and complications because staff could not reach other doctors in time and the machines that need a connection gave wrong readings. A steady connection means records that stay in sync, referrals that get through, and doctors who can look things up.

The kit

The last of the five Starlink Standard kits bought in Asaba on 15 September. With this one, every kit from the first purchase is delivered. The invoice and the transfer out of the fund are on the Wuse, Abuja page and in the community fund.

Handover

The kit arrived at the hospital gate on 21 September and the nurses on shift came out for the photo.
